Municipal Liquor Store

On February 2, 1976, the city council passed an emergency resolution to permit the purchase of chairs and tables for the new municipal liquor store from Wass Furniture at a cost of $3043.20. Aldermen at an earlier city council meeting had decided to include a pool table at the new store; and although a petition opposing this was signed by thirty-two people, the aldermen did not change their position on this matter. The municipal liquor store in Beresford, SD was open for public inspection on February 6, 1976; but, no sales were made on this day. After a move was made from the old liquor store to the new one, the new liquor store was scheduled to be open for business on February 11, 1976.
