What is the Hass Pages website?
Hass Pages is a website which houses web projects by Brian Hass.
Is there a common theme among the web projects housed by Hass Pages?
The main page of each web project on Hass Pages has a link to the main page of Hass Pages. The only other thing that the separate web projects on Hass Pages have in common is that they are all authored by Brian Hass. Otherwise, the individual web projects are more or less independent of one another in terms of content (and sometimes presentation style).
What is the oldest web project located on Hass Pages?
The oldest web project is the article, "The Lost and Found Episodes of Doctor Who," the first edition of which appeared on the internet in April 1993 as a text file on an anonymous ftp site. Each subsequent edition was an updated version of the previous edition.
Will any additional web projects be added to Hass Pages in the future?
Yes. In fact, a few web projects are in various stages of development. Some exist (offline) as early edits of some of the webpages. Others exist as written notes.
Why does it sometimes take a while for some web projects to be posted and/or updated?
Brian Hass (the author/curator of Hass Pages) has a day job which often keeps him away from projects that are of personal interest to him. A lack of free time means a lack of progress working on web projects.
Why were web projects moved from previous free webhosts to the current free webhost (Neocities)?
Neocities became the current webhost of Hass Pages when previous webhosts became permanently unavailable due to having been shut down. For example, the original webhost (Geocities) was later bought out by Yahoo! which eventually chose to discontinue Geocities. The genealogy and history web projects were hosted by Rootweb Freepages, which was bought out by Ancestry, which later decided to dismantle Rootsweb (including its Freepages webhost).
Has Neocities been a good home for Hass Pages?
Neocities has been an excellent home for Hass Pages! If anyone is looking for a free webhost for their own website, Neocities is highly recommended!
