WELCOME

This is the Farley/Hass Genealogy Web Site, which documents some of the genealogical research of Brian Hass. When this website was updated in 2024, this newest version was moved to the website's new home on the Neocities webhost.

The older version of this website is still located on the old Rootseb Freepages webhost, which Rootsweb is in the process of retiring from service. As part of this process, Rootsweb has disabled the login feature on Freepages since the beginning of 2024; so, authors of websites (located on the Freepages webhost) can no longer modify the websites by either editing the webpages located there or by uploading new webpages to the webhost. This has rendered all websites hosted by Freepages as read-only.

Visitors to the older version of this website will notice that the message board feature is now gone. The message board was a service provided by Freepages to websites hosted by that webhost. However, the message board service was discontinued a number of years ago. Even though the message board appeared to have still been a feature on the Farley/Hass Genealogy Web Site after that time, the feature was no longer supported by Freepages and no longer worked (something which would have been obvious to anyone who had tried to either read the message board or to post to it).

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

A special thanks goes to the Arcadia Animations website, which used to provide a wide variety of free animated graphics for use on websites. It provided the free animated flag graphics that were used on this webpage. Unfortunately, the Arcadia Animations website went offline line permanently in 2009.

A special thanks goes to Rootsweb Freepages for having provided a home for the Farley/Hass Genealogy Web Site for more than two decades. A thanks goes to Rootsweb for having provided numerous genealogical services (including WorldConnect). Rootsweb will be greatly missed! The author of this website would also like to thank the genealogists who were kind enough to have shared their own genealogy research with the author. Finally, many thanks go out to all of the people who have visited this website over the past decades. Your interest was very much appreciated!

Starting in 2024, Rootsweb continued its process of retiring and migrating parts of itself. Part of this process meant that it was no longer possible for the author to update the version of this website which resided on the Freepages web host. Future updated versions of this website first became available at the new Neocities web host on December 10, 2024. The website's new web address was posted at the Farley/Hass Genealogy Web Site's Facebook page.
